Born in Cap-Haïtien, I have enjoyed the pride of being a Capois. Living and growing in the Northern part of Haiti, I have enjoyed the glory of being of one Henri Christophe’s descendant.
As tough as it is to solve Haiti’s major problems, as important as it is also for each and every one of us to contribute to the best of our abilities to the improvement of the lives of all our Haitian brothers and sisters, all of them, without taking social status or class in to account.
As a musician, I have taken upon myself to arrange “Cité du Cap-Haitien”, a song written fifty-two years ago by Ulrich Pierre-Louis, the maestro of the Orchestre Septentrional. This song has become the local hymn of the Capois and the Nordistes of Haiti. I have arranged it in such a way that it remains our local hymn forever.
Yes! I’m extremely proud to be a Capois and a Christophien.
