FOR YOUR INFORMATION

As far as we know, no radio station, no TV station, and no podcast is dedicated to the promotion of Haitian classical music. This is the reason why the HFDCC produces this yearly concert of Haitian classical music in order to bring much needed awareness to this genre within the repertoire of Haitian music. Many of those composers listed below, such as Ludovic Lamothe, referred as the Black Chopin, Edmond Saintonge, Carmen Brouard, Emile Desamours, Julio Racine, Sydney Guillaume, Daniel Bernard Roumain, Nathalie Joachim, just to name a few,  are well known around the world.

Partial list of Haitian composers extracted from “The Piano Repertoire of Haiti” written by Robert Grenier.
